Lesser Sea Spurrey (Spergularia marina), Skinflats RSPB Nature Reserve. Similar to Greater Sea Spurrey (Spergularia media) but less upright, with sepals usually at least as long as the petals and the petals a darker pink.

Northern Gannet (Morus bassanus) taking off from the Firth of Clyde near Ailsa Craig. Gannets are often followed when diving into the sea by Herring gulls (Larus argentatus) and Lesser Black backed gulls (Larus fuscus) which attempt to benefit from the Gannet's skill at catching fish.
