The county flower of Orkney, Alpine Bearberry (Arctostaphylos alpina) can be found at high latitudes as well as mountainous habitat. The berries are edible, turning black when ripe. This photo was taken at Faraclett Head, Rousay, on a plant walk organised by the Orkney Nature Festival.
