Green-veined White (Pieris napi) butterfly on Yarrow at Spey Bay. It is similar to other white butterflies, but has prominent green stripes on the undersides of its wings. It also has black wingtips and one or two black spots on the forewing. Photo taken by David Palmar.

A common butterfly preferring damp areas, the Green-veined White can be identified by its prominent greenish veins on the white/yellow hind wing. The upper wings have one or more dark spots.
