They have a long tongue that allows them to feed on plants with long tubular florets. This photo was taken TWIC (The Wildlife Information Centre) and Bumblebee Conservation Trust Bumblebee ID Workshop, Vogrie Country Park. The pollen basket can be clearly seen.
