Loch Lomond - Scenery
A panoramic picture of Loch Lomond in spring, showing from left to right along the line of the Highland Boundary Fault, Inchcailloch with the Luss hills above it, in the middle distance the hills around Tarbet and Arrochar, then Conic Hill and Balmaha with snowy Ben Lomond above. The picture was taken from the Shore Wood, RSPB Loch Lomond, part of the Loch Lomond National Nature Reserve. The area forms part of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. This panorama has a 3 to 1 ratio, and being stitched together from several images is capable of printing to a large size.

Perthshire- Crieff and Muthill
Red kite (milvus milvus) flying between electric power lines near Amulree, Perthshire. Red kites have been reintroduced into three areas in Scotland and are spreading slowly across the country.
The need to transmit electricity from highland wind farms has necessitated the building of a huge new power line 220km from Beauly to Denny, replacing 109km of older lines, including this one.
There is some evidence of bird mortality due to collisions with power lines, which may be reduced by the increased diameter of the new lines, making them more visible.

Glenshee - Ptarmigan in Winter
The winter of 2007 provided adequate snow cover for skiing at the time of our visit. This was not the case all winter, but in 2008 the snow cover lasted much longer.
