A mixed flock of gulls - mainly Herring gulls (Larus argentatus) - taking off from the tidal River Lossie, Lossiemouth, due to disturbance by people and dogs. Such disturbance uses up much of the energy which the birds need to survive the winter.

Loch Lomond - Scenery
The Loch Lomond nature reserve is in the foregroud, with the river Endrick mouth on the right.
The hills along the Highland Boundary Fault descend from Conic Hill on the right to the end of Inchcailloch on the left.
In the background is Ben Lomond, the nearest munro (mountain over 3000 feet) to Glasgow.
In winter, the Endrick marshes are a haven for wildlife, including a flock of Greenland White-Fronted Geese.
