Hare’s-tail Cottongrass (Eriophorum vaginatum), Cruach Tairbeirt, with Ben Lomond in the background, taken by Sarah Longrigg. Cottongrass is actually a Sedge, not a grass. This species has a single flowering head like a Hare's tail. This distinguishes it from Common cottongrass which has multiple flowering heads.
