Doon the Watter - Clyde Tunnel to Erskine Bridge
Newshot Island, Renfrewshire, really a peninsula now, formed when the Clyde was straightened and deepened to imrove navigation. Beyond the sheep is the original channel of the Clyde, and in the background is Erskine New Town. The date of creation is a guess but the year is correct. Argyllshire - Inveraray
Much of Inveraray was designed and rebuilt in the 18th century by Robert Adam and Robert Mylne, and the new town included houses for workers on the estate of the Duke of Argyll. The Bell Tower was commissioned by the 10th Duke of Argyll as a memorial to the Clan Campbell dead of the First World War. The tower was completed in 1931.

Pond creation by Froglife's Living Waters Project resulted in this biodiverse habitat which encourages the development of amphibian populations at Eastfield, NW of the Arria sculpture and the M80, in Cumbernauld Community Park. The ponds are in a site next to trees, where amphibians can find shelter when not in the water, especially during the winter when hibernating or resting.

A Blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) with a sunflower heart in its beak. The bird visits a feeder for a few seconds, grabs a seed, then retreats to a bush where it can consume the seed safely. Taken by David Palmar in a Kelvindale, Glasgow garden. behind the bird is a hanging nest or resting hole.

Male Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla), a warbler which mostly migrates to Africa for the winter, but a few stay in the UK, or migrate to the UK from Scandinavia for the winter. Taken in a Glasgow garden in January by David Palmar. Despite being insectivorous in the summer, they are attracted to the garden in winter by sunflower seed and fat balls with seeds embedded in them.
