CEP - Norfolk
Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) chicks with eggs, taken in Hickling Broad in May 1939. Scanned from a slide taken by CE Palmar. Bitterns only have a single brood each year. Being a scanned image there is no metadata stored with the image, so the location and the date taken were interpreted from his notebooks and are accurate to within a few miles and a few days respectively.
