Speyside near Aviemore and Newtonmore
Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) hinds and young stags silhouetted at sunset on a Speyside estate. Deer living in open upland habitats tend to be smaller than those living in more wooded lowland areas. Red deer are more active during the morning and evening but can be seen more often during the long daylight hours of summer.
