Loch Lomond - South Loch Lomond
White-Fronted Geese (Anser albifrons) migrate to near Gartocharn, on the south shore of Loch Lomond for the winter, where a flock of between 100 and 200 often graze. They can be distinguished from Greylag Geese which are of a similar structure by the white patch on the bill and the dark barring on the belly. Here they are grazing quietly, showing that they have not been disturbed.
