An adult Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus) attempting to predate Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) ducklings, taken by Rebecca Dickson. The gull was unsuccessful on this occasion.

Goosander (Mergus merganser) female and chicks on the River Kelvin, Maryhill, June 2020, taken by Pat Thomson. The female (sometimes known as a redhead) shows a definite line between the brown head and the white breast. This distinguishes a Goosander from a Red-breasted meganser, in which these two colours merge.
