Gorse (Ulex europaeus) bush by the River Carron, showing the edge of the industrial port of Grangemouth, looking towards the Firth of Forth. Gorse flowers between January and June and can provide shelter to wildlife during bad weather. Its flowers are also a good source of nectar for invertebrates.
