Harvestman (Phalangium opilio) found in Partick, Glasgow on the GNHS Biodiversity Conference excursion in 2010. Harvestman are Arachnids but not considered to be 'true spiders'. They cannot spin silk webs; they capture prey with hooks at the end of their legs. The Harvestman can shed a leg to escape capture. This could explain why this specimen has only 7 not 8 legs.
