Red deer (Cervus elaphus) stag with at leat 10 points on his antlers, Loch Eport, North Uist. Red deer are Britain's largest land mammal. When fully grown males (stags) weigh between 90 to 190kg and stand at around 1.07 to 1.37m tall at the shoulder.

The buff-coloured antler pattern can be seen on the forewings, making them easy to identify. As seen here, male Antler moths also have striking feathered antennae.

Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus) buck, Insh Marshes RSPB Reserve. Only the bucks (males) have antlers, with up to three points on each. Roe deer vary in coat colour throughout the year, being most obvious in the summer when their coats are bright rusty red. In winter, their coats turn a dull, slate grey colour.
