Shag colony with colour-ringed Shag, Fidra

Shag (Phalacrocorax aristotelis) colony, Fidra, showing in the background colour-ringed Shag green GPLE has returned to her breeding grounds for another season. She was ringed as a breeding adult on Fidra in summer 2015 with BTO ring 1478791 and was sexed as a female through observations of her size and voice (males honk and females hiss). She was seen up in Portknockie, along the Moray coast, on the 4th and 14th of October 2015. Thanks for this information to shags@ceh.ac.uk to whom colour-ringed Shags should be reported.
