The breeding season of this species occurs between February and August, and the juvenile Eurasian Siskin leaves the nest at around 13-15 days after the eggs hatch. A female Siskin (Carduelis spinus) at RSPB Loch Lomond. Picture taken by David Palmar. The Siskin has a distinctly forked tail and a long narrow bill. The female is similar to the male although much paler/duller in colour with a greyish head without the black cap or chin, nor is there any yellow on the breast. Description improved by Ilaria Lonero.
