The Scallop Shell (Rheumaptera undulata) is a moth of the family Geometridae. It is widely distributed in Southern Britain but a rare sight in Scotland. Since 1970 the species has only been recorded in Scotland twice, once in 2016 and again in 2020. In recent years, sightings of this moth have started to increase, although still considered a rare species. Photo taken by David Palmar at Insh Marshes.
