Colour ringed Pied Wagtail, Tiree 18923 155 Tiree Colour ringed Pied Wagtail (Motacilla alba) HP on Tiree, taken by Rebecca Dickson. This bird was ringed previously on the island by the Clyde Ringing Group on 24/08/21. Here the Darvic ring can be seen with the letters HP. On the right leg is the metal British Trust for Ornithology Ring, with a pink colour ring above it. This combination is used to identify the project as multiple groups colour ring the species. 11 May 2024

Collecting seaweed, Eilean-a'-Ghiorr 13769 269 CEP - North Uist Collecting seaweed from the beaches of Eilean a' Ghiorr, just off the North Ford causeway between North Uist and Benbecula. Seeweed is an important resource for the crofters and farmers of the islands for fertilising their land, and has been a tradition for hundreds of years. Scanned from a slide taken by CE Palmar. The date taken is approximate, but the month is correct. 10 July 1965
