Nethybridge and Dulnain Bridge
The flooded River Spey valley in winter from above Broomhill, looking east towards Culreach. Increasingly with climate change causing heavy and frequent rainfall, especially in winter, floodplains store water, which has serious implications for farmers relying on pasture there, but helps to prevent flooding of property downstream.

Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) is an aromatic plant in the daisy family Asteraceae, which can be found on rough grasslands, riverbanks and roadside verges. BR Ivatt Mogul Class 2MT number 46512, was built in Swindon in 1952. She is named ‘E V Cooper, Engineer’ after the founding director of the Strathspey Railway, Mr Eric Cooper, who was responsible for her restoration and return to service. In 1982 she was moved to Strathspey railway which runs between Aviemore, Boat of Garten and Broomhill. Photo taken by David Palmar.
