Inveraray Castle, seat of the Clan Campbell, was rebuilt in the 18th century to a design by Roger Morris and William Adam, then added to after a fire in 1877. Above the River Aray bridge is the hill Dùn na Cuaiche.

The Arctic Penguin was a lightship built in Dublin in 1910, then converted and since 1995 is a maritime museum.
The puffer Vital Spark, formerly VIC 72 (victualling inshore craft), was the last working Clyde puffer, and was renamed in 2006 after the Para Handy tales of the Inverary writer Neil Munro.
