Dundreggan moth traps
The Green Arches moth (Anaplectoides prasina) is from the family Noctuidae. The marbled greenish ground colour of the adults affords excellent camouflage when resting on moss- or lichen-covered trees and fences. The whalebone arch erected above Arinagour pier, Coll, is actually a replica erected in 2006. The originals from a Fin whale washed up in 2004 are in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. Lunga in the Treshnish Isles can be seen through the arch.
