An adult female Grasshopper Warbler (Locustella naevia) in the hand of a licensed ringer, Ardeer, North Ayrshire, taken by David Palmar. Formerly classified under the broad warbler family Sylviidae, they are now recognised as part of family Locustellidae, (named after their repetitive trilling song which sounds like a loud grasshopper).
