Speirs Wharf, Port Dundas on the Glasgow Branch of the Forth and Clyde Canal. The former Forth and Clyde Navigation Company canal office is on the right, and beyond it the former City of Glasgow Grain Mills, and Sugar Refinery in the tall building at the far end. The buildings were converted into flats in the 1980s.

Goosander (Mergus merganser) pair on the Forth and Clyde Canal in Maryhill, Glasgow, taken by David Palmar. The male has a dark green head and the female has a brown head, although birders often call it a redhead. The male is dispayling courting behaviour.

Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) curled up beside the Forth and Clyde Canal, Glasgow, taken by David Palmar. Red foxes do quite well in the city, where it is warmer than the countryside, and where food is in reasonable supply, either from bins, from children throwing away their excess food, or from more conventional sources, such as rodents.
