Collecting seaweed from the beaches of Eilean a' Ghiorr, just off the North Ford causeway between North Uist and Benbecula. Seeweed is an important resource for the crofters and farmers of the islands for fertilising their land, and has been a tradition for hundreds of years. Scanned from a slide taken by CE Palmar. The date taken is approximate, but the month is correct.
