Tiree - Vaul, Salum, Caolas and Gunna Sound
Remains of the Dun Mor (Dùn Mòr) broch at Vaul, Tiree, built in the first century AD as an emergency refuge, with a double wall 25 to 30 feet high, inside which was a staircase. It is thought that the occupants came from southern England and ruled the local people. In later years the ruins were used to make a farmhouse.
