Coxcomb Prominent (Ptilodon capucina) at Insh Marshes. When at rest or if it is being handled such as during a moth trapping session, it feigns death. This behaviour allows the moth to be perfectly camouflaged and it looks almost identical to a leaf.

Dundreggan moth traps
The Coxcomb Prominent (Ptilodon capucina) is a moth of the family Notodontidae. Typically this species is a rich chestnut colour with a tuft of creamy hairs on the thorax.
