A member of the celery family, Cowbane (Cicuta virosa) or Northern water hemlock, is a tall growing perennial herbaceous plant. It favours damp conditions, often found growing along riverbanks and in other marshy areas. Scanned from a slide taken by CE Palmar in 1981.
