Twite (Carduelis flavirostris) which come to feeders at the RSPB nature reserve at Totronald, Coll. Male Twite can be distinguished from the similar Linnet by the red rump, light coloured beak, and generally streaky appearance.

Highland beef cow, Arnabost, Coll. The Victorians preferred ginger and started breeding selectively to maximise reddish stock, resulting in the prevalence of that colour today. This one is the captain of the Coll football team, and is strutting about on the pitch!

Whalebone arch, Arinagour, Coll

Coll - Arinagour
The whalebone arch erected above Arinagour pier, Coll, is actually a replica erected in 2006. The originals from a Fin whale washed up in 2004 are in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. Lunga in the Treshnish Isles can be seen through the arch.
