Dundreggan moth traps
The Bordered White (Bupalus piniaria), is a moth of the family Geometridae. This is a variable species with strong sexual dimorphism, always conspicuous in the antennae which are combed in the males and plain in the females. Photo taken by David Palmar as part of a moth trapping session at the Scottish Entomologists' Gathering in Dundreggan.

Green-veined White (Pieris napi) on Bloody Cranesbill (Geranium sanguineum), taken by David Palmar. This is a female, spring brood individual. Later in the season the dark grey/brown colouration on the upperwing becomes less obvious.

Green-veined White (Pieris napi) butterfly on Yarrow at Spey Bay. It is similar to other white butterflies, but has prominent green stripes on the undersides of its wings. It also has black wingtips and one or two black spots on the forewing. Photo taken by David Palmar.
