Rock Pipit (Anthus petrosus), Balephetrish Bay, Tiree. It has a dusky appearance and its legs are dark red or black, not pink as in a Meadow Pipit. The Rock pipit also lacks the white outer tail feathers of the Meadow pipit, which can be seen in flight.

The Bar-tailed godwit is a regular winter visitor to Tiree in moderate numbers.
Dunlin breed in modest numbers on Tiree, with some evidence that recent declines have been stabilised. Hundreds or thousands are seen during migration, especially in April and May. Dunlin lose their black belly in winter.
