Marram Grass (Ammophila arenaria) growing on sand dunes at Hùisnis, North Harris. Marram Grass helps to bind the sand together with its rhizomes, and prevent coastal erosion. It also stabilises the ground to allow other plants to colonise in a succession behind the dunes.
